ClearFox® QuickOne SBR Kit

The ClearFox® QuickOne is an advanced sequential batch reactor (SBR) process technology in which all chambers are fully aerated. The ClearFox® QuickOne SBR kit is very flexible and can be installed in any tank size or shape. This flexible SBR kit is available for applications between 5 and 5000 people. This specialist SBR process technology achieves market leading effluent standards and also produces less sludge than any other biological wastewater treatment process technology.

QuickOne SBR kit

Innovative advance SBR technology

The ClearFox® QuickOne SBR kit achieves a very high level of wastewater cleaning with both nitrification and denitrification achieved in the biological reactor. The single chamber SBR process has no separate prechamber or settlement tank. It is a completely biological aerated process. This means the system produces minimal sludge as it is all digested in the biological reactor. Also, BOD values of less than 10 milligrams per liter are achieved. Also, market leading low levels of ammonia are also achieved in the system, with final effluent values of less than one milligram per liter.

ClearFox® SBR Kits are simple to transport on pallets and can be installed in tanks purchased locally or constructed on site from concrete. SBR kits can also be used to easily upgrade existing septic tanks or cesspits to fully biological wastewater treatment plants.

ADVANTAGES

There are many advantages to this new evolution of the standard SBR system. For tank manufacturers who want to combine this SBR system with their existing tanks, it is very simple as you do not need internal walls and the volume requirements are extremely low. For projects where wastewater treatment is needed, the low cost of SBR kits combined with small size for transport means they offer an extremely cost effective solution.

In addition, the extremely small sludge amounts generated from this new system mean that overall operation costs are lower compared to other process technologies. With increasing compliance requirements around the world and more stringent effluent standards needing to be achieved, being able to easily meet BOD values of less than 10 milligrams per liter and ammonia values of less than one milligram per liter makes the quick one kit a perfect solution for any wastewater treatment problem.

THE PROCESS TECHNOLOGY

How does a ClearFox® QuickOne SBR system work?

Standard SBR systems operate with two chambers. A prechamber which has an integrated buffer and sludge storage area and a separate biological reactor. The ClearFox® QuickOne SBR system has no separate prechamber. The complete biological reactor is fully aerated. All organic material is degraded and by having more food available a much larger concentration of bio mass is able to develop.

In brief, the typical steps in the SBR standard kit process are as follows:

The intelligent control unit that runs and powers the process measures the water level at all times in the tank. So the process is highly automated uncontrolled. The SBR cycle is variable and changes depending on wastewater inflow, but in general the following process steps occur:

1 – Filling stage: Here wastewater flows in to the SBR system. The automatic level measurement knows when wastewater is flowing into the wastewater treatment plant and the cycles adjust accordingly.

2 – Purification and aeration stage: The aeration is intermittent and not continuous. The special time sequence for the aeration is one of the key factors and how the system operates. During the aeration process the bio mass in the fully aerated biological reactor consumes carbon and nitrogen in the wastewater. The intermittent aeration allows for a nitrification and denitrification processes to occur. The process is fully biological and does not require the addition of any additives or chemicals.

3 – Settlement stage: After the extended aeration phase, the wastewater is purified and cleaned in the fully aerated biological reactor. During the settlement phase all of the activated sludge logical reactor settles to the bottom of the tank. This leaves all of the cleaned and purified wastewater at the top of the tank in the water column.

4 – Flushing: There are no mechanical parts within the wastewater proces and all wastewater movement is completed via non clogging airlift pumps. Prior to discharge of the clean water from the system, the airlift pipes are flushed with compressed air to clean them and remove any suspended solids that may have settled in these air lift pipes. This ensures a very low suspended solids count in the final effluent.

5 – Clearwater extraction: During this phase clean water is discharged from the system. The discharge is powered by an air compressor and uses a non clogging air lift pump which has no moving parts. The clean water from the top of the water column is all discharged and can be used for irrigation, discharge to the environment or can be sent for further treatment to allow reuse.

After the clear water discharge phase the cycle repeats continuously. where no new wastewater enters the system, the smart control unit detects this by taking a measurement of the water level via pressure sensor and the system goes into holiday mode where a cycle times are reduced a less electricity is consumed.
