A small municipality in the Harz Mountains in central Germany was planning to modernise its municipal wastewater treatment plant. The reason for this was the increased population growth. During the construction phase, which was to last 12 months, the municipality was looking for an interim solution to ensure wastewater treatment. It asked an engineering firm, which approached PPU Umwelttechnik GmbH.
The challenge was that the municipality was no longer achieving its prescribed discharge values. These are a COD of 150 mg/l and a BOD of 40 mg/l. It therefore decided to replace the entire plant. During the construction phase, the municipality looked for a temporary interim solution. It was important for this to be available quickly, to quickly start its purification performance and to achieve the required discharge values.
The ideal solution for this project is a ClearFox® containerised wastewater treatment plant. This is customised to the needs of the municipality and is particularly suitable as a leasing system.
All treatment processes can be accommodated in the containers. The first container consists of a buffer with screening. The second container contains the fixed bed biological reactor with connected lamella clarifier. The systems leave the production facility of PPU-Umwelttechnik GmbH in Bayreuth fully operational.
