Export Sales Manager (m/f/d) – Wastewater Treatment (SBR kits and domestic WWTPs)

PPU Umwelttechnik GmbH is a leading manufacturer of wastewater treatment solutions, and we are seeking to expand our sales team.

The focus of the role will be to develop a new global distributor/partner network for our market leading packaged small domestic wastewater treatment solutions (for households) and SBR kits for the private sector (hotels, housing development, etc.).

This is a newly created role and will offer the successful candidate an excellent opportunity to develop as a key person within our company sales team.

We are seeking a highly motivated person who can take on the challenge of building up a new business sector and generating turnover for this product range. The candidate must be a technically minded sales & marketing professional, ideally with experience in the water or wastewater  industry.

The candidate must be able to converse confidently at all levels right up to closure of sale. You will be working with newly researched contacts around the world, continuously generating sales leads and promoting product awareness to achieve the company’s agreed targets. You must have excellent communication skills and the ability to negotiate in all environments e.g. face to face, by phone & email.

Role:

  • Research and development of new contacts and sales leads
  • Direct sales & marketing to industry, end users, merchants, contractors, and consulting engineers.
  • Interpret enquiries, produce quotations & generate orders in line with agreed targets.
  • Organisation and delivery of CPD courses & Presentations.
  • Provide technical advice and select products for client applications.
  • Promotion of the company brand in line with company’s ethos and vision.
  • Travel to trade fairs
  • Reporting directly to the sales director

Requirements:

  • 3-5 years’ minimum experience in relevant / similar industry
  • Previous sales experience / business development experience in water / wastewater would be preferred
  • A proven track record in sales and in generating turnover for new business areas/products
  • Experience with international sales and markets
  • Experience with a CRM system
  • Excellent telephone manner and communication skills.
  • Willingness to travel and a full clean driving license.
  • Flexibility in all aspects of work – ‘Can Do’ attitude.
  • PC Literate with a good knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word & Outlook.
  • Results oriented, self-motivated & ability to work on own initiative.
  • Customer focused.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Good organisational and planning skills.
  • Good negotiating skills & ability to close a sale.
  • Fluent English
  • German language skills are an advantage but not necessary.

Location:

Location is flexible as candidate can work remotely. Location within Europe preferred. If working remotely then monthly sales meetings at our HQ may be required.
